REAL WEDDING: NIKKI AND SCOTT

As a couple who work in creative production, Nikki and Scott have an uncompromising eye, and understand what it takes to tell a story and set the tone. Nikki and Scott were dream clients who let our creativity run wild, and blessed us with trust in our expertise. Wanting their wedding to feel art-inspired, on-trend and effortlessly chic, we designed their wedding to include many of our favourite design moments du jour - dramatic draping, opulent chandeliers, and unconventional table arrangements. Working with an incredible team of vendors including Beaux Florals, photographer Koko King, Toronto venue The Symes, Eventure Designs, and of course the couple themselves, Nikki and Scott’s wedding was a standout in our 2025 diary!

When getting ready becomes part of the story

With the fabulous Koko King booked as Nikki and Scott’s wedding photographer, it was important to secure a dedicated space for their Portraits and First Look. We booked nearby OBJX Studio as Nikki and her bridesmaids’ getting-ready suite, and scheduled two full hours for photography. The results were artful and romantic, and incorporated the venue’s industrial character. We especially loved the one-on-one portraits of the bride with each of her bridesmaids, and the sense of personality and connection that came through.

DRAMATIC DRAPING FOR A chic TORONTO WEDDING CEREMONY

Knowing Nikki and Scott wanted an on-trend, chic vibe to their wedding, we suggested draping the entire Scarlet Room at The Symes in dramatic and layered creamy white fabric. One of 2025 hottest trends, we love this look because it reads classic rather than trendy, and because it creates an immersive and insulated environment, perfect for intimate weddings. To complete the look, we hung opulent chandeliers and suspended more drapery from the ceiling, adding movement and depth.

For the altar, we vinyled a circular riser in a shiny chrome finish, and laid a vinyl floor with a pearlized effect. Large sculptural all-white florals of lilies and chrysanthemums flanked the altar, creating a cool but timeless ceremony space. For the signing table, we used the same velvet green table linen as we would use in the cocktail space outside on the terrace.

Cocktail hour with a side of fashion and food

After the wedding, Nikki and Scott stepped outside to the terrace to celebrate with all their friends and family. Drinks and appetizers were served, while inside, the Mad Bash crew flipped the room, transforming the ceremony space into a gorgeous reception.

toronto wedding Reception with an unconventional floor plan

For Nikki and Scott’s reception, we designed an unconventional floor plan with a mix of table shapes, using both serpentines and rounds. We clustered rounds together in groups, and placed large floral arrangements where tables met, to create a sense of flow. We then filled them with large ribbed hurricanes, ivory velvet table linens, sage green charger plates, gold flatware, and ribbed glassware. On the serpentine tables, we switched to dark green velvet table linens, and hand ruched them for a luxurious and textured effect.

Nikki and Scott’s cake was a work of art. A two-tiered chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream filling, covered with a billowing textured fondant that echoed the airy, free-flowing movement of their wedding aesthetic.

Wedding Planners for creatives and BUSY professionals

Nikki and Scott’s wedding was planned and designed in just seven months with our Full Wedding Planning package. This package worked well for the couple, as they were busy running their business, and didn’t have the bandwidth to plan a wedding that matched the high creative standard that they’re known for in their personal and professional lives.
