KIEHL’S ULTRA BODY CREAM
An extreme product deserves an extreme product launch!
We were asked to create a Hot and Cold testing lab to celebrate the launch of Kiehl’s new Ultra Body Cream. To highlight the product’s ability to keep skin hydrated in extreme temperatures, we transformed Transmission Studios into an immersive event that featured all things hot and cold!
BUILDING THE TEST LAB
The experience began in the Test Lab, the neutral zone that set the tone for the entire event. Designed with a clean, lab-inspired aesthetic, the space featured graphic tile patterns and custom-built product display counters.
Guests could interact with the product at dedicated testing stations, applying the Ultra Body Cream while receiving skin consultations from skincare experts. The area also showcased the science behind the formula, introducing the product in a way that felt interactive rather than instructional.
AN EDGY BATHROOM PHOTO MOMENT
A standout moment in the space was an edgy bathroom-inspired photo opportunity, complete with a clawfoot tub, lab-style tiles, and a skyline view of New York City—a nod to the brand’s NYC roots. The installation highlighted one of the key product benefits: hydration that lasts for up to three showers.
TURNING UP THE HEAT
From the neutral lab, guests moved into the Hot Room, where the atmosphere shifted dramatically.
This experiential photo op gave serious sauna vibes with all red everything, a steamy fire pit, infrared-style LED tubes, and a confessional booth to “spill the cream.”
Entering the Cold Room
The next transition took guests in the opposite direction: Walking into the Cold Room, the temperature of the environment—visually, at least—dropped instantly. Blue lighting, icy fog, and illuminated furniture created the feeling of stepping inside a giant freezer.
A frozen product display anchored the room, while smokey atmospheric effects like dry ice enhanced the cold, frosty aesthetic. Another confessional booth encouraged guests to “keep their cool,” tying the space back to the product story while giving guests another content-friendly moment.
COMPLETING THE EXPERIENCE
Beyond the temperature zones, the event space included additional details that reinforced the theme throughout the evening.
Hot and cold bars served themed cocktails and appetizers, a giant ice sculpture acted as both décor and a conversation piece, and custom lab-inspired displays showcased the product line. Dry ice and snow cones layered in visual interest and helped make the experience feel cohesive from start to finish.
Every element worked together to support the central idea: putting the product to the test in extreme environments.
From Concept to Reality
Our focus was translating the creative concept into a space guests could fully experience—ensuring every design element, installation, and interaction worked seamlessly in the real world.
Because when the idea is bold, the execution has to be just as strong. And when everything comes together, a launch event becomes more than just a party—it becomes an experience. 🔥❄️
